Event description
This is a multi-agency introductory and core safeguarding and child protection course. Safeguarding children is everybody’s responsibility and it is essential that professionals who have contact with children are clear about their duties and responsibilities. This course provides an overview of the current safeguarding procedures and explores the difference between safeguarding children and child protection. It provides up to date, practical information to enable you to create and sustain safer environments for children and your workforce.
Training objectives
This course will:


  • Increase awareness of child protection and safeguarding children within a multi-agency team.

  • Provide information about how to act on concerns about children and young people.

  • Develop understanding of child protection procedures and work within a statutory framework.

  • Enable participants to recognise the skills, role and tasks of other professionals involved in working with children and their families.

Learning outcomes
This course will:
