Event description
This course is for practitioners who are required to carry out safeguarding enquiries in line with Richmond and Wandsworth Safeguarding Policy and Procedures. The two day session aims to enable participants to develop their skills in conducting enquiries into allegations or suspicions of adult abuse.
Training objectives
To provide those conducting enquiries under s42 of the Care Act to understand their role and responsibilities.
Learning outcomes

  • Know and be able to apply the values legalisation and policy that underpins adult safeguarding

  • To have a clear understanding of the role and responsibilities of other agencies in safeguarding enquiries

  • To understand and be able to apply the 4 stages of Safeguarding, timescales and documentation

  • To be able to identify and manage risk within MSP

  • To be able to apply the role and responsibility of the enquirer to practice

  • To understand the different types of advocacy and how to access

  • To be apply to apply best practice in enquiry interviews

  • To be able to apply MSP to determine with an adult the enquiry outcomes and plan the enquiry accordingly

  • To have the skills required to conduct a thorough enquiry

  • To be able to critically analyse and evaluate information obtained in the enquiry
