Training objectives

Why focus on Neglect

Neglect is the most common reason for a child to be subject to a Child Protection Plan.
Neglect features in 60% of all Child Safeguarding Practice Reviews (Formally SCR's)
Neglect is the most prevalent form of maltreatment in the UK
Neglect has a negative accumulative impact on the longer term outcomes and future development of children

Learning outcomes

NSPCC Graded Care Profile 2 is an assessment tool for identifying and measuring neglect.

It helps practitioners to baseline care given to a child and track changes over time, which in turn helps to ensure that the right decisions are made at the right time.

Additional Information
The sessions will be co-facilitated by Practitioner Leads from the WSCP Neglect Strategy implementation group.
